The authors of this paper approve the following information and Francesca Gino was not consulted during this process. Multiple coauthors have access to the raw data in each study.

Authentic First Impressions Relate to Interpersonal, Social, and Entrepreneurial Success (Markowitz et al., 2023; all data on the OSF: https://osf.io/y3mpx/):

Study 1 pilot (chatplat_pilot_data_OSF.csv): Data collected by Maryam Kouchaki, analyzed by David Markowitz.

Study 1 (chatplat_replication_data_OSF.csv): Set up of the study assisted by Harvard Business School Research Associate Anne Marie Green. Data collected and analyzed by David Markowitz.

Study 2 (ted_data_OSF.csv): Data collected and analyzed by David Markowitz (original text files from Ryan Boyd).

Study 3 (sharktank_data_OSF.csv): The videos for early seasons were collected by Eli Finkel and supplied to the research team by Francesca Gino. Videos for more recent seasons were collected by a research assistant for David Markowitz. Francesca Gino was therefore not involved in the original collection/transcription of the raw video data. All videos were transcribed by Landmark Associates and analyzed by David Markowitz. Ryan Boyd created and analyzed the “custom authenticity measure.” Human coding performed by two RA’s supplied by Francesca Gino; RA’s were managed by David Markowitz.

Study 4a-c (journalists_data_OSF.csv, news_data_OSF.csv, politicians_data_OSF.csv): Data collected and analyzed by David Markowitz.

Francesca Gino had no involvement in the collection or analysis of any datasets reported in this paper, nor was there ever an opportunity to access/modify data at any stage of study design, data collection, or reporting.
